As is Hachiman tradition, every piece we create is made with a story in mind. For our first item in the new series, inspiration was drawn from a festival held on Nawate Street in the city of Matsumoto. The Matsumoto Frog Festival. On the morning of August 14th in Year 34 of the Showa Era (1959) a Typhoon terrorised the area and decimated the nearby Metoba River.
Despite the best efforts of the locals to clean the river following the event, the frogs which inhabited the area had migrated further up river to cleaner waters. Now, this festival is held to honour those frogs and the history of Nawate Street. The frogs are represented in a lot of ways at this festival, so we decided to provide our own take on the situation. This first drop begins with the T-shirt 'Kaeru'
